Erroneous Knowledge

Proper "chunking" of knowledge is like developing specialized modules in the brain so as to solve future problems. This can be true for studying programming. You have to properly "chunk" concepts like data structures and algorithms so as to access the plethora of algorithms that exist to model your problems so as to solve it with computation. You have to have a solid foundation and this foundation is built from "chunks". Decomposition of a problem requires a break down of a problem into subproblems that can be solved computationally.

The object pointed to stays the same and is mutated in place and when the result is reassigned the interpreter throws an error stating that an immutable cannot be modified yet the assignment is successful. This voodoo is beyond my reckoning!

My mind is thoroughly boggled by composite objects. Objects in objects in essence is another fold in complexity. Just as recursion has its pain points, though also its own uses such as saving state on the stack of each iteration of the recursion, composite objects allow for components. You can piecemeal form components that interact with interfaces in code. I imagine this would decouple and allow for orthogonal approaches. This sounds very much like a form of psychobabble in terms of computer speak. Apologies if I am not as fluid with the nomenclature in proper usage I am myself a mere beginner.

I have to look at my python studies as my job. Getting to a point of producing performant code requires dedication that I will meet. I need to work harder and code everyday. I am desperate living below the poverty line with a glut of time to focus on Python3. I was motivated to learn more about programming so I would not be a skid anymore. I feel like I am headed for skid row if I don't turn the boat around. I have been to skid row in LA which is next door to Little Tokyo. The sight of the desperation motivates me to take a keen interest in python. People will steal everything from you on skid row down to your shoes when you sleep. It is a pit of hell where everyone is pulling each other down and there is no way out. I cannot fail. I will dedicate 2024 to rigorous studies in data structures and algorithms in python and build something, anything and code code code.

The "self" as a reference to an instance of an object is still confounding. Also "self" is a stand in that is arbitrary and can be assigned any name within the special method __init__. "self" is used to refer to a particular instance of an object so that methods within the defining class can access the paticular instance attributes of the object to perform whatever behavior that is determined by the class. The nuances are strange and the documentation available online is positively ungrammatical and confusing. The tutorials are really poorly written with lots of errors. Luckily to aide this situation there are resources that are not free though are written rather better like realpython.com. I have troved through so many free resources on programming full of typos and grammatic errors in documentation. But now I have found a quality resource in realpython.com. I feel like it is so well thought out and heartfelt however the cost I think it is still worth it. Payola aside the plentifulness of tutorials and videos is amazing. I will keep this short but I am struck by the quality and detail. This is eye opening and will help my programming journey.

Simulation and Simulacra took over my life for a period of time where I followed a course of study to deconstruct the book's meaning philosophically. It was rather bunk because much of the book is drawn out horseshit. Pataphysics is a science of nonsense and thus is bullshit. A fictive theory of theory is free floating from reality thus not exactly taking part in reality but a superimposition of speculative fiction. I was foolish for spending 7 years of my life devoted to understanding the book which I read over and over again several times trying to piece out a hidden meaning in the arcane details of the tome. I should of studied something more fruitful and legitimate like Hume or Hegel or anything else. Onward with Python, the fundamentals of python course starts on this coming thursday. I will try to document my progress. From "if __name__ = __main__" to data structures and algorithms and big-O notation. This should be a fun care free blog about python hopefully. My original idea for the blog was to blog about Golang but ever since they introduced generics to the language I kind of got lost. I also got lost in the intricacies of metaprogramming like the idea of reflections in Go though I did not have a deep knowledge. I got lost in Rakulang as well which was a strange detour in watching the development of a language though it may of been more fruitful to have watched Rust than Raku come to play in the market of ideas. I feel like I lack the real skills to enter the field. I have general knowledge of security from physical security learned from the CISSP and digital security learned from the CCSF cybersecurity courses. Yet I feel like I am not qualified to jump the skills gap. I am not a hacker by any means and I think this puts me at a disadvantage of entering the field. I am not hacker elite so I can not get hired right off the street with my skills. General knowledge is not enough. It has been a long time coming but I need to document my studies in computers more thoroughly to actively document to prove to myself I am progressing and moving towards something to fruition. During the pandemic I studied cyber security online through city college of san francisco. It seemed like a proactive thing to do during the moment of harboring doom. I studied about malware, exploit development, and I guess smart phone technology. There was a little reverse engineering of programs in the mobile hacking course which goes the same for the malware course where you would dissassemble a program in Ghidra or IDA and pick through the bones of code. Exploit development was cool because you got to implement rudimentary buffer overflows though the class never taught about circumventing the methods to avoid the basic buffer overflow such as ASLR canaries and DEP. Seems to be a story about a bar in Oakland where the bartenders keep dying from either old age or complications of the bartender's life style. Tony was a barber who ran the bar who recently passed. I wanted to write a story about him in rememberance though the guy hated me and would openly mock me at the bar. I was not on the best of terms but I have sympathies for the guy. He died in the bar from bad drugs. He died in the place he loved, Geo's Kayes. I don't know I suppose this is another anti-story. A loose sequence of encounters at the bar, a rolling history perhaps? The bar meant a lot to me being the only place I could go given my situation as a wash out.  Riding with the San Francisco Fire Department's ambulance division during Halloween could be threshed out to form a story. The time I was in a holding cell for a guy on shrooms who tried biting me but the accompanying paramedic slammed his head against the wall and told him to chill the fuck out. The paramedic was a writer on his free time with his gothic horror novels being hawked on the side. Lots of drunks out on Halloween imbibing a bit too much and getting a visit from the Fire Department. Not much material for a story, just a fading memory of glimpses not a barrage of scenes but untimely moments. Being chewed out by another paramedic for dropping the ball during a car accident. I didn't stabilized her head but gawked at the scene like a passerby-er.
